Product details

"After neutering, an increased appetite and reduced energy requirements can leave your cat prone to weight gain. You can help them to maintain a healthy balance with VETERINARY HPM® Adult Neutered cat food, expertly formulated to meet the unique needs of neutered cats.

Ideally adapted to cats’ needs and optimal health, Veterinary HPM® Adult Neutered offers a low-carb, high-protein formula containing 20.5% carbohydrates and 44% protein (of which 90% of animal origin).

Weight and appetite control
With low energy density, low carbohydrate content and high protein content, this food helps your cat to maintain a healthy weight and lean muscle mass. High quantities of satisfying protein and fibre help your cat feel full, while L-carnitine encourages healthy fat metabolism.

Urinary health
Neutered cats are more prone to urinary problems. With a high amount of animal proteins, VETERINARY HPM® Adult Neutered stimulates water intake by up to 35% [2], increases urine volume, and stabilises urinary pH for a healthy urinary system.

Skin and coat support
VETERINARY HPM® Adult Neutered cat food is rich in sulphur amino acids and contains an ideal balance of omega-3 and omega-6 fatty acids. Together, they nourish the skin barrier and improve sebum quality that help keep the skin healthy and the coat shiny.

Hairball control
Help your cat say goodbye to hairballs! A blend of soluble and insoluble fibres helps to regulate the digestive system and reduce the formation of hairballs.

Oral and dental health
Ascophyllum nodosum seaweed helps to protect your cat’s oral health by limiting plaque and tartar formation and reducing bad breath.

High digestive tolerance
Prebiotics and probiotics support the growth of beneficial digestive flora in the gut. VETERINARY HPM® Adult Neutered cat food also includes psyllium fibre and bentonite to regulate the digestive system and ensure normal stools.

VETERINARY HPM® Adult Neutered cat food is a suitable food for neutered adult cats over one year old.

FAQ

VETERINARY HPM® Adult Neutered cat food is a dry cat food for neutered cats aged one and over. If your cat has not been neutered, consider VETERINARY HPM® Adult Neutered & Entire with Salmon instead. You can combine this food with VETERINARY HPM® Adult Neutered wet cat food for an optimal combined nutrition program to support your cat's nutrition and hydration.

Cats are naturally strict carnivores. That means they need their food to provide them with a high quantity of high-quality animal proteins and reduced quantities of carbohydrates, as they're not equipped to properly digest them. VETERINARY HPM® Adult Neutered is formulated to meet these needs with 44% protein (90% animal origin) and 20.5% carbohydrates. The high-protein/low-carbohydrate balance and added ingredients are ideal for promoting muscle mass and optimal weight, supporting your cat’s digestive, urinary and kidney health, promoting oral and dental health, and keeping their skin and coat healthy.

Neutering impacts your cat's metabolism, with important consequences for their appetite and energy requirements. After neutering, cats need less energy and have a greater appetite, which can lead to excessive weight gain if not carefully managed. That's why it's important to choose a cat food for neutered cats that is adapted to their new nutritional requirements. With a moderate energy density, 44% protein and only 20% carbohydrates, VETERINARY HPM® Adult Neutered cat food provides your neutered cat with all the nutrients they need to live their life to the fullest, while avoiding excessive weight gain. It also supports urinary and digestive health, as well as healthy skin and a shiny coat.

You can find the recommended daily ration for VETERINARY HPM® Adult Neutered cat food on this page and on the packaging. The rations will depend on your cat’s activity level and body weight. Weigh your cat regularly and adjust their rations if needed to ensure healthy weight maintenance. If you’re unsure how much to feed your cat, always ask your vet for advice.

To help your cat get accustomed to their new food, it's important to introduce it gradually. Mix a small amount of the new food with your cat's current food, gradually increasing the proportion until they're exclusively eating the new food. Use the following schedule as a guide for a successful transition: • Days 1-2 – 75% current food and 25% new food. • Days 3-4 – 50% current food and 50% new food. • Days 5-6 – 25% current food and 75% new food. • Day 7 onwards – 100% new food.
