Product details
Due to the shape of their ear canals, dogs and cats can be prone to excess wax build-up, odours, and ear infections. You can help to keep your pet’s ears clean, fresh and healthy with EpiOtic, an ultra-gentle ear cleanser designed for regular use in cats and dogs.
EpiOtic contains a blend of effective ingredients to support your pet’s ear health:
- Salicylic acid is a natural exfoliant that breaks down dead skin cells and excess ear wax for easy removal.
- Glycotechnology is an exclusive blend of sugars known to reduce the attachment of some microorganisms (e.g. bacteria and fungi) to the skin of the ear canal.
- Anti-Odour Technology reduces the sources of unpleasant odours to keep your pet smelling fresh.
With regular use, these ingredients can help to prevent the build-up of wax, neutralise unpleasant smells, and protect against unwanted microorganisms.
EpiOtic’s soothing, pH-neutral formula will not irritate your pet's skin and is gentle enough to be used for regular cleaning.
*Always check in with your veterinarian for advice first.
How to use:
- Gather your supplies. In addition to EpiOtic solution, you’ll need cotton pads or a clean towel.
- Choose a time when your pet is relaxed and get comfortable. Sit smaller pets facing forward between your knees so you can gently hold them in place. For larger pets, you may need to sit them between yourself and the wall with their rear in the corner.
- Calm your pet with praise, reassurance and affection before you begin.
- Gently lift up the ear flap to expose the ear canal.
- Squeeze the ear cleaning solution into the ear canal until the canal is completely filled.
- Massage the base of the ear gently. This will help the solution to move around the entire ear canal, dislodging wax, debris and other build-up.
- Your pet will want to give their head a shake to get rid of the solution so you may want to grab a towel!
- When they’re done, use the towel to dry off their head and face.
- Take a cotton pad and gently wipe any liquid and debris from the inner ear flap and ear canal, taking care not to go any further than an inch inside the ear. Then, repeat on the other ear.
- Throughout the cleaning process, be sure to reward your pet for co-operative behavior with lots of praise and treats.
