Product details

Your medium or large breed puppy will grow by leaps and bounds right before your eyes. The first few months of a big dog’s life is a critical stage when their nutritional needs seem boundless. They require a diet that’s high in protein, calories and with adapted mineral levels.

VETERINARY HPM® Puppy Large & Medium dry dog food is a complete diet that gives puppies all the nutrients their bodies crave, plus it supports their delicate digestive system and undeveloped immune system. It is recommended as a balanced diet for:

  • Medium breed puppies (adult weight 11-25 kg) up to 6 months old
  • Large breed puppies (adult weight over 25 kg) up to 7 months old
  • Pregnant and lactating medium and large breed dogs

In addition to being made up of ingredients that support their nutritional needs, this appetising formula is easy to digest. It helps your puppy with:

Healthy growth: VETERINARY HPM® Puppy Large & Medium is an energy-dense dry dog food with a high 35% protein content (90% from animal sources) and low carbohydrates (23.5%) mean lots of energy for playing and running. The balanced calcium and phosphorus content help strengthen their bones and teeth.

Immune support: Beta-glucan helps develop your puppy’s immune system and make it stronger so they are better able to fight disease and improve response to vaccines. [1]

High digestive tolerance: To help your puppy’s digestive tract function properly, VETERINARY HPM® Puppy Large & Medium dry dog food provides prebiotics (fructo-oligosaccharides) and probiotics (lactobacilli) that are scientifically proven to support beneficial flora and a healthy microbiome. 80% of puppies experienced a high digestive tolerance level [2]

Skin and coat support: Building and maintaining healthy skin and coat function is also important for your puppy’s well-being. This dry puppy food contains high levels of animal protein and a balance of omega-6 and omega-3 fatty acids to strengthen the skin’s barrier and produce a shiny coat.

Brain development: The first stage of a dog’s life is also about developing good cognitive function and awareness. Fish oil containing a type of omega-3 fatty acid called DHA (docosahexaenoic acid) supports vigorous brain growth to keep your dog bright and alert.

VETERINARY HPM® does not contain any artificial colours and flavours.

FAQ

The best dry dog food for puppies gives them all the nutrients* they need during the critical first 6 months of its life. Ideally, your puppy dog food has a high protein and energy (calorie) content, is rich in essential vitamins and minerals, and contains supplements like fish oil for brain development, and pre/postbiotics for good digestion. It should also be appetizing for your puppy, so they eat the right amount to support their rapid growth. Veterinary HPM Puppy Large & Medium meets all these criteria for a good dry puppy food. *Consult a veterinarian for expert nutritional advice adapted for your puppy.

Any type of diet that supplies all the nutrients, calories and protein it needs to support strong, healthy growth is good. However, using dry dog food for puppies usually has a few advantages over wet dog food. For example, the crunchy texture helps to clean their teeth, promoting better oral hygiene, plus it is also more nutrient-dense, helping to support quick growth. In all cases, you should provide unlimited access to drinking water for optimal hydration of your puppy or pregnant/lactating dog.

Your puppy will love VETERINARY HPM® Puppy Medium & Large Breed dry dog food because it’s delicious, but resist the urge to feed them every time they ask for more. This is a carefully formulated diet, so we strongly recommend following the standard daily rations for their weight and age. You will find our complete feeding guidelines on the bag, but your vet or vet technician can provide you with a feeding plan that is more customized for your pet. Consult a veterinarian for expert nutritional advice adapted for your pet.

Switching over to a new dog food can be a challenge in terms of taste and digestion. The best way to help your puppy get used to VETERINARY HPM® Puppy Medium & Large Breed dry dog food is to do it gradually over a period of 5 to 7 days. The following schedule is recommended*:
> Days 1 and 2: 75% current food + 25% VETERINARY HPM®
> Days 3 and 4: 50% current food + 50% VETERINARY HPM®
> Days 5 and 6: 25% current food + 75% VETERINARY HPM®
> Day 7: 100% VETERINARY HPM®
